Kappa Zeta Sigma Chapter History
The Charter Members
|
In October of 1987, several brothers wished to continue the noble ideas of Phi Beta Sigma. They wanted to continue the chain of fellowship - the deepest longing of the heart of a man. They wanted to further build on the foundation of culture which has offered them a life of service, and enduring friendships. A fellowship of kindred minds. Within it is the friendship and understanding of those who share a common faith of brotherly unison, who are in quest of the highest intellectual relalities, and are united in unselfish service to their fellowmen. With these ideas in mind The Kappa Zeta Sigma Chapter received it's official charter on April 19, 1988. Prior to the official chartering ceremony, Brother Dr. Quintin B. Green (Life Member), Brother Cedric Cornish, Brother Oris Bryant, Jr., Brother John DeShazer joined the chapter and worked very closely planning Kappa Zeta Sigma weekend.
Because of these brothers dedicated commitment to Sigma, they have been named honorary Kappa Zeta Sigma Charter members. Since the chartering of Kappa Zeta Sigma Chapter we have had numerous intakes and our chapter roster continues to grow. We are also responsible for chartering two collegiate chapters: Georgia College & State University and Georgia Southwestern State University. |
